Biographie

Née le 12 avril 1970 à Istanbul, je suis biologiste de formation, titulaire d’un doctorat en microbiologie. Après avoir quitté le monde scientifique en 2007, j’ai exercé en tant qu’assistante manager dans une entreprise de 2009 à 2018, avant de me tourner résolument vers la création artistique.

Aujourd’hui artiste-auteure installée à Valence, je travaille dans mon propre atelier en tant que sculptrice en terre cuite et peintre à l’acrylique.
En sculpture, j’explore différentes techniques de finition — enfumage, émaillage, cire, acrylique — pour faire émerger une émotion, une ambiance, à travers les visages et les corps modelés.
Ma peinture, essentiellement réalisée à l’acrylique, intègre également divers matériaux comme le tissu, le fil, le sable, l’argile ou encore les feuilles. Ce mélange de textures crée des effets de relief et de profondeur, rendant mes œuvres visuellement et sensiblement expressives.

Passionnée de littérature, je m’adonne aussi à l’écriture de nouvelles, avec un recueil publié en 2021.

Parcours artistique

J’ai découvert la terre en 2004 dans un atelier de poterie à Istanbul. En 2016, j’ai entamé une formation en modelage à l’atelier Matière Contact à Lyon, avant de me perfectionner auprès de la sculptrice Nelly Redon et au Centre culturel de Portes-lès-Valence.
Bien que principalement autodidacte en peinture, j’ai enrichi ma pratique au sein des ateliers du peintre, céramiste et sculpteur Ricardo Ponce Rodriguez, puis du peintre Olivier Runembert, à Valence.
Je continue à suivre des cours de dessin de modèle vivant à l’École des Beaux-Arts de Valence.

Biography

Born on April 12, 1970, in Istanbul, I hold a PhD in microbiology and initially pursued a scientific career as a biologist. After leaving the scientific field in 2007, I worked as an assistant manager in a private company from 2009 to 2018, before fully embracing my path as an artist.

Today, I am a registered artist-author based in Valence, where I work in my own studio as a terracotta sculptor and acrylic painter.
In sculpture, I use a variety of finishing techniques—smoke firing, glazing, wax, and even acrylic painting—to evoke emotion and atmosphere through the expressions and forms of faces and bodies.
My paintings, primarily created with acrylic, also incorporate mixed media such as fabric, thread, sand, clay, and leaves. This combination of materials brings depth and texture, giving the works a distinctive sense of volume and relief.

A passionate writer as well, I published a short story collection in 2021.

Artistic Journey

I first discovered clay in 2004 during a pottery workshop in Istanbul.
In 2016, I began formal training in modeling at the Matière Contact workshop in Lyon, then honed my sculpting skills with artist Nelly Redon and at the Cultural Center of Portes-lès-Valence.
Although self-taught in painting, I have developed my acrylic work through workshops with Ricardo Ponce Rodriguez(painter, sculptor, and ceramicist) and Olivier Runembert, both based in Valence.
I am currently enrolled in life drawing classes at the École des Beaux-Arts de Valence.
